Tchindas will Screen in Cameroon this Saturday

Following a successful screening at Écrans Noirs Cameroon, Tchindas will have a public screening at Douala Bessengué on Saturday.

Tchindas is a documentary by Marc Serena and Pablo García Pérez, that showcases the transgender community in Cape Verde as they prefer for their annual carnival through the eyes of Tchinda Andrade. Queer cinema is constantly frowned upon in many African countries including Cameroon and the fact that this critically acclaimed documentary is going to be screened in a public place is a huge deal.

Tchindas won the Grand Jury award at the Outfest Festival and Best Documentary at the Cape Verdean American Film Festival.
