AfriQueer to tour Africa and Europe

AfriQueer is set to embark on a tour of Africa and Europe.

The project is a ritual performance created by Warren Nebe in collaboration with top emerging African artists from several African countries.

Currently showing in Johannesburg, it will show in Amsterdam from 29th of September to October 9. Rotterdam will see them perform from the 7th to 8th of October; Maputo from 10th to 11th November and they will wrap up in Accra from 15th to 16th December.

AfriQueer, a product of the Drama for Life AFRICA Project, supported by the Swiss Development Coorporation (SDC), proposes to tour to six (6) African countries in the SADC region in 2017 -2018 calendar year.

The six new iterations of AfriQueer will include Performance Dialogues for Community Engagement with LGBTIQ human rights and social justice.

AfriQueer, while safeguarding the safety and wellness of all its members, seeks to reveal Queer masculinities in Africa. It proposes that Gay Rights are Human Rights, and that Human Rights are Gay Rights.
