Support the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission in the #Repeal162 Campaign

Last week, we reported that the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission in Kenya is currently in the country’s high court challenging the country’s anti-gay law.

Currently, they are awaiting judgement in March and have a hearing date for the case, Petition 440 of 2013: Freedom Of Association Under Article 36 of the Constitution of Kenya. The hearing is scheduled to for the 15th of March 2018.

They are currently fundraising to offset their litigation costs with the goal of raising a million shillings. You can help them achieve this. Visit their M-Changa page to find out you can donate and be a part of history.

The National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission seeks to promote and protect the equality and inclusion of LGBTIQ individuals and communities in Kenya, and advance their meaningful participation in society. They have been nominated for this year’s Freedom of Expression Awards hosted by Index on Censorship. The Awards celebrate “the courage and creativity of some of the world’s greatest journalists, artists, campaigners and digital activists,” and will be awarded on April 19th.
