WHER unveils Human Rights Resource Guide for Nigerian Women

Human Rights education is important for everyone living in Nigeria especially women. From rape, forced marriage to domestic violence, and blackmail; straight and lesbian women need to understand these laws so they can know how to arm themselves with it.

Nigerian based NGO, Women’s Health and Equal Rights (WHER) Initiative has released a cartoon based IEC material that presents simple summaries of Nigerian laws including the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act and laws governing inheritance, families, bail, landlords, and tenants. It also clarifies the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, international treaties, and the African Charter.

The 50-page book also provides adequate descriptions on how it can be used to seek justice.
