Nneka Onuorah’s “My House” celebrates New York’s queer vogue ballroom culture

Viceland’s new series; My House, is a blessing seriously overdue, coming almost 30 years after ‘Paris is Burning’. The docu-series takes viewers inside New York’s queer vogue ballroom scene as it follows queer dancers Tati 007, Alex Mugler, Jelani Mizrahi, Lolita Balenciaga, and Relish Milan as they overcome personal challenges and prepare for competitions while ballroom legend Mother Precious Ebony lays out the rules, the rivalries, and all of the drama.

The series was produced by Nneka Onuorah, co-created and executive produced by Elegance Bratton, with Sean Johnson as the showrunner. My House premiered on April 25th and viewers got a glimpse of the coldest winter ever. My House airs Wednesday at 10:30pm on Viceland.
