Watch the trailer for ‘We Don’t Live Here Anymore’, A new LGBT feature film by TIERs.

The Nigerian LGBT community as been buzzing with excitement since The Initiative for Equal Rights announced their latest audio visual contribution to changing the narrative. The feature film was written by the eclectic Nigerian born transgender woman; Noni Salma (formerly known as Habeeb Babatunde Lawal) and directed by award winning filmmaker; Tope Oshin. And it promises to unveil the struggles LGBT youths face when confronted with societal and family pressure.

The film follows two teenage boys in Prominence high school;Tolu Bajulaiye and Chidi Egwuonwu (Played by Francis Sule and Temidayo Akinboro). They find themselves embroiled in a high stake scandal that could alter the course of their future. With an impending expulsion at bay, Tolu’s mother, Nike (Played by Funlola Aofiyebi Raimi) who is a powerful matriarch pulls all the strings within her palm and resets the tone into what would become a battle of class, blackballing and a triggering society ready to punish anything besides the status-quo.

The trailer unveils a suspenseful dialogue of family drama, acceptance and the effects societal pressure (plus a few mother to son slaps that will have you shout HAAAAA). Watch the trailer below and stay collected to The Rustin Times for more information.
