The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will drop some of its anti-LGBT policies

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has repealed some of its polices that discriminate against LGBT people in the church.

The rule will allow children of gay couples eligible for baptism. It will also stop the expulsion of gay couples who are married.

In the statement though, it states that the church will still consider same sex marriage a transgressions and they hope it will help foster relationships with families and promote understanding with people despite their beliefs. It adds that the new law will take effect immediately in all their churches across the world.

This development comes after members of the LGBT community in the church had protested the Church’s stand on the issues, with some leaving the church when it introduced anti-LGBT policies in 2015.

Reactions on this development are mixed.
