Donald Trump has revealed that transgender people cannot serve in any capacity in the United States military.
He revealed this in a series of tweets moments ago.
Donald Trump tweeted last year that he will support the LGBT community.
The Obama administration had allowed for transgenders to serve in the military but a lot of Republicans were against the move. The Independent Rand Corporation estimated in 2016 that 2,450 of the 1.2 million active-duty service members are transgender.
Many have gone on Twitter to voice their concerns.
The Transgender suicide rate is 40%. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for someone who is transgender to read Donald Trump’s tweets today.
