#OurStories: Sharifa from Uganda shares her story with Tyler Oakley

To be a queer refugee is not as easy as many believe. Aderonke Apata was granted asylum after 13 years of intense legal battles so it is not an easy task. In Tyler Oakley’s Chosen Family: Stories of Queer Resilience, he speaks with two refugees; Shadi from Syria and Sharifa from Uganda.

Sharifa had to flee Uganda and finally had to move to Kenya before making the move to the United States.
