Cosmetic giant L’Oreal Paris U.K. has announced that they have dropped trans model Munroe Bergdorf after her comments against white supremacy went viral. Bergdorf is the first transgender model to appear in a L’Oreal Paris U.K. beauty campaign as part of their mission to promote diversity and inclusion.
She was dropped after UK website, The Daily Mail, published an article with the headline, “L’Oréal Transgender Model Says That All White People Are Racist.”
The brand went on Twitter to announce that they have cut ties with the model.
L’Oréal champions diversity. Comments by Munroe Bergdorf are at odds with our values and so we have decided to end our partnership with her.

The model and DJ took out time to clarify her in a statement
Many are showing solidarity with Bergdorf on Twitter.
In the last 3 months, @MunroeBergdorf is the second LGBT person of colour to be attacked by the nasty DailyMail for calling out racism.

What @MunroeBergdorf said is factual. Individual exceptionalism cannot absolve you of complicity in oppressive systems that are STRUCTURAL

Nothing Munroe Bergdorf said was wrong, or even inappropriate. All white people benefit from racism and white supremacy, this is not news
