The Powerpuff Girls are coming back to Cartoon Network and this time they are 4! Cartoon Network has announced that the 4th member will be black and will be voiced by award winning South African singer, Toya Delazy.
She shared the news on her Twitter page.

Delazy is also openly lesbian and is a SAMA award winning singer. She has also been nominated for a BET Award and her song Forbidden Fruit won the Best International Song award at the 9th Out Music Awards. In 2016, Cartoon Network tapped her to create a South African version of the show’s theme song, which she went on to produce and sing. The network officially announced earlier that a new Powerpuff Girl would be debuted as a part of the TV movie, “The Power of Four.” Then we got a shot of the character in a Cartoon Network 2017 Sizzle Reel for Russia.
The original The Powerpuff Girls debuted in 1996. The 5-part TV movie, Powerpuff Girls: The Power of Four, premieres on September 17.
