The Rustin Times is passionate about telling stories of resilience and strength in our community and ‘Under The Rainbow’ explores that.
The film by Pamela Adie follows her coming out journey and explores the power of storytelling in changing hearts and minds towards social acceptance for LGBT people in Nigeria. It was driven by the findings of a recent study in which 83% of Nigerians say they would reject a family member who is LGBT, and believe that LGBT people should not have access to public services like education and healthcare, Under The Rainbow aims to increase visibility and create a more positive perception of LGBT Nigerians.
It features guest contributors such as film director, Adeola Osokunjo, Red Media’s Chude Jideonwo, Olumide Makanjuola, and Ade Balogun, and Ese Walter.
Under The Rainbow was written, directed, and produced by Pamela Adie, who serves as the Executive Director at The Equality Hub.
