Just after the season 10 finale, RuPaul’s Drag Race scored a whopping twelve Emmy nominations on thursday. Drag Race has already snatched four Emmy wins in the past, with the mastermind behind the show, RuPaul Charles, taking home two consecutive trophies for outstanding host for a reality or reality-competition program.
RuPaul took to Instagram to share the excitement.
“Making RuPaul’s Drag Race is a labor of love. The fact that members of the Television Academy have recognized that passion by nominating us for 12 Emmy’s is a true honor. It take a village, people. I want to recognize the hard work and dedication of my partners at VH1 and World of Wonder, our dedicated cast and crew, and most of all, the amazing queens that help us celebrate the heart and soul of drag. Congratulations to our fellow nominees.”
As Billboard reported, RuPaul is once again nominated for outstanding host. The show also is nominated for outstanding reality-competition program as well as outstanding directing, outstanding hairstyling and outstanding makeup for multi-camera special or series, among others. Included in the twelve nominations are two nods for Drag Race‘s after-show Untucked.

This year’s Drag Race nominations marks the most nods in network history for VH1. The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Sept. 17 2018 on NBC, hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Michael Che and Colin Jost.
