But PRIDE is still set to happen — only in a different format.

On the 1st of April 2020, the GlobalPRIDE 2020 was launched as a partnership between InterPride, the European Pride Organisers Association, and national Pride networks in several countries. The goal of Global PRIDE 2020 is to ensure that everyone from every region of the world can be a part of it this year.

Themed, ‘Exist. Persist. Resist’, GlobalPride has been slated for June 27th, 2020 and it will be live-streamed online for 24 hours. There will be musical and artistic performances, speeches from activists and campaigners, and addresses by public figures.

On the GlobalPride team, there are opportunities for people who are interested to volunteer in various capacities for the event. PRIDE Coordinators and organisations in different regions of the world are also encouraged to and also submit content; activism or performances for the event.

Interested participants can sign up for the event on Facebook, here or sign up for their newsletter for updates on the event.
