Ìfé The Movie has been nothing short of wonder since the production team released the trailer in July 2020. The movie trailer has garnered almost forty thousand views on YouTube, the movie has secured a spot at the Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival where it will make its world premiere, and it has been featured on top media platforms around the world.
One of its more recent victories is its nomination for the 2020 Baobab Award for Best Short Film. The Baobab Award for Best Short Film exists to recognise and support African filmmaking and to enhance the visibility of emerging new voices. The Award comprises a £1,000 cash prize awarded by a jury of filmmakers and industry professionals. The Baobab Award is log listed in partnership with the National Film & Television’s MA in Film Studies, Programming & Curation, to encourage an appreciation and knowledge of African cinema in the next generation of film programmers.

Ìfé The Movie will also have its USA Premiere at the 35th Edition of Reel Q Pittsburgh International LGBT Film Festival on October 8, 2020, and its European Premiere at Film Africa, London’s biennial festival & year-round programme celebrating the best African cinema, on November 7, 2020,
Last month, there was also a private screening for Ìfé The Movie in Lagos, Nigeria that involved a watch party, Question-and-Answer session with the cast and crew, and Panel sessions.
