For the first time in the history of Pan Africa ILGA, a Refugee Pre-Conference was held as part of the 2021 edition of one of the biggest LGBT+ focussed conferences on the African continent. The pre-conference titled ‘Looking for a place to call home’ explored issues that African LGBTIQ+ refugees face in refugee camps and in countries that they settled in. It also looked at how organisations and allies can mobilise the global human rights system to address these issues.
Participating organisations include:
JASS SNA
House of Guramayle
House of Rainbow
Triangle Project
Block 13 Kakuma
People Against Suffering, Oppression and Poverty (PASSOP)
