The Rustin Times featured in new book, Sassy Planet

The Rustin Times’ Founder/Editor-in-Chief, Harry Itie has been featured in a new book titled Sassy Planet: A Queer Guide to 40 Cities Big and Small. The book by David Dodge, Nick Schiarizzi and Harish Bhandari is a travel guide exploring what’s hot in different cities and what it means to be LGBT+ in those societies. Harry Itie was interviewed on the work that The Rustin Times is doing and what it means to live outside the margins in a country with anti-gay laws.

Illustrated by Braulio Amado, the book draws on the extensive travel experiences of LGBT+ travellers, as well as the perspectives of local DJs, artists, activists, drag performers, DIY historians, and long-time residents. It also offers up the latest on what’s hot in 40 cities around the world from America, Ghana, South Africa and Japan.

The book features interviews with local celebs, best-of lists, and little-known hideaways all packaged with helpful insights, cool bits of regional culture and queer lore.

Sassy Planet is available now on Amazon.
