Nigerian Queer activist Matthew Blaise has been announced as part of the group of LGBT+ advocates to be honoured with the 2021 MTV EMA Generation Change Award presented in collaboration with All Out. According to MTV, The Generation Change Award aims to recognize “fearless, original young people who are tackling the world’s toughest problems through music, storytelling or digital media.”
“I am working towards a world where we don’t have to have these debates about LGBT or LGBTQ people when it comes to human rights,” Matthew Blaise said in their appreciation video. “I want people to recognize how equal all of us are… so I am very passionate about solving these issues and being able to help young LGBTQ people like me.”
