Akwaeke Emezi’s New Book “Little Rot” Set to Hit Shelves

Kalu, grappling with the aftermath, embarks on a journey that takes an unexpected turn when he attends an exclusive sex party hosted by his best friend, Ahmed. What follows is a chaotic upheaval that abruptly alters the course of their lives. Enter Ola and Souraya, two Nigerian sex workers from Kuala Lumpur, who intersect with the unfolding drama, adding layers of complexity to the narrative. As these characters navigate the corrupt and opulent underworld of the city, a shared urgency to escape a looming threat propels them into uncharted territories.

 

“Little Rot” is slated to be published by Riverhead Books, with the release date set for June 18, 2024. Emezi’s literary repertoire has consistently captivated readers, with works such as “Freshwater,” “Pet,” “The Death of Vivek Oji,” “Dear Senthuran,” “Bitter,” “Content Warning: Everything,” and “You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty.”
